Pete Aman, Managing Partner
As Managing Partner for VSG Consultants, Mr. Aman brings leadership, experience and vision to the company. As an executive leading start-ups and other early-stage, high-growth organizations, Mr. Aman has faced challenges and driven success with multiple companies, both large and small, throughout his career. He has served as a Management Consultant, President & CEO, VP of Sales and Marketing, Director of Operations and Finance Manager.
Mr. Aman began his post-MBA career with Compaq Computer, managing the financial planning process for the Tandem manufacturing center in California. In 1997 he joined his first high-tech start-up, Flip-Chip Technologies, a venture focused on developing and deploying advanced semiconductor packaging technologies. While there, his role was to provide business planning leadership and identify areas to expand the market for their unique technologies. He managed all aspects of business planning which included financial modeling, market analysis, customer service and operations planning. Flip-Chip was successfully positioned as a leader in advanced semiconductor packaging technologies and continues to operate today.
In late 2000, Mr. Aman joined Tanisys Technology, an early-stage technology company that developed test equipment for semiconductor products. As the Vice President of Sales and Marketing, Mr. Aman led the transformation of the organization from its origins as a single-product company into a market-driven, multi-product international organization pursuing new high growth opportunities. During the technology crash of 2001, Tanisys was in critical condition as revenues fell significantly. Mr. Aman drove the changes required to develop new products for the market, including a flash memory test system. The launch and business development actions for the new product were very successful, starting with a critical win at SanDisk Corporation, the leader in flash memory card design and production. Tanisys became the world leader in test equipment for flash memory cards within 2 years of the new product launch. Follow-up wins with other industry leaders including Micron Technology, Samsung Semiconductor and Seagate Technology drove Tanisys revenues to record levels. Mr. Aman also led the rebuilding of the Operations organization as the company rapidly grew to support the success of the newest product line.
In 2008 Mr. Aman became President & CEO for Vertical Solutions, a full-service provider of design, prototype and production services. In this role, Mr. Aman expanded the international supply chain to enable development and manufacturing of complex electronic products. Mr. Aman optimized the sales and marketing strategy to target high value/high volume customers. These enhancements to the supply chain combined with improved marketing and sales reach resulted in significant design and manufacturing wins. Vertical Solutions was sold in 2009.
Today, Mr. Aman is the Founder and Managing Partner for VSG Consultants, a full service consulting firm focused on small and mid-sized companies. His background in executive management, sales, marketing, operations and finance enables Mr. Aman to provide leadership for VSG and it’s clients, delivering strategic planning, sales, marketing and general business guidance to companies looking to sharpen their business model, improve strategic positioning, and in some cases, raise funding for their start-ups or other new initiatives. VSG specializes in providing small and mid-sized companies the structure, strategy and management systems employed by larger, world-class organizations.
Mr. Aman received his BS in Finance from the University of Arizona and his MBA from the University of Texas at Austin.
